چکیده

Abstract With the increasing penetration of photovoltaics (PVs) in distribution networks, PV inverters and capacitor banks (CBs) should be well utilized for volt/var control tackle fluctuations uncertainty introduced by PVs. This paper proposes a multi-time-scale method to coordinate CBs, where complementarity between minute second-level promotes economic secure operations networks. Firstly, model optimization (VVO) is constructed minimize network losses CB operations, are set reserve some reactive regulation capacity used real-time control. According VVO, predictive carried out consider future fluctuations, which decides current 5-minute all devices achieve operations. To avoid uncertainties resulting possible voltage violations, further adaptively adjusts MPC values, rapidly drives power abilities ensure security maintains that results almost do not deviate from economy. Case studies based on modified 17-node verify effectiveness proposed method.

Market Based Control of PV Inverters in a Distribution System

OF THESIS MARKET BASED CONTROL OF PV INVERTERS IN A DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM A growing energy crisis, a rapid climate change, and a constant depletion of fossil fuel necessitates the role of renewable energy resources like PV (Photovoltaics) and wind energy to form a group of distributed sources of generation. A group of PV and wind energy generation units may work together as micro players to form ...

Multi-objective Based Optimization Using Tap Setting Transformer, DG and Capacitor Placement in Distribution Networks

In this article, a multi-objective function for placement of Distributed Generation (DG) and capacitors with thetap setting of Under Load Tap Changer (ULTC) Transformer is introduced. Most of the recent articles have paidless attention to DG, capacitor placement and ULTC effects in the distribution network simultaneously. Insimulations, a comparison between different modes was carried out with,...

On the Effectiveness of Voltage Control with Pv Inverters in Unbalanced Low Voltage Networks

Unsymmetrical loads and PV infeed limits the hosting capacity of LV feeders due to a faster exceeding of the over-voltage limit. While current connection rules require from inverters to control the voltage, they do not address at all the behaviour of three-phase inverters under unbalanced conditions. This paper investigates the impact of different control options on the network performance (vol...
